Looking through the #madewithunity hashtag, we’re always amazed at the depth of creativity and talent shown by our community. We love exploring your works in progress and celebrating your successes with you. As we look back on an impressive year of creativity, we’ve been highlighting some of our favorite works in progress on Twitter.
While it’s impossible to highlight all our favorites, here are six Made with Unity games that caught our eye, be sure to check them out!
The action-adventure Death’s Door was a breath of fresh air in 2021. Created by the team at Acid Nerve and published by Devolver Digital, its unique narrative and art style captured our attention. In July we sat down with the duo behind the game, David Fenn, producer, designer, and composer, and Mark Foster, Programmer, Designer, Writer and Animator, during our Creator Spotlight series to talk about how they achieved their look.
When you hear “open-world” you would be forgiven for thinking about running through fields, climbing mountains, and vast deserts. Subnautica, released in 2019 and fully released in 2021, flipped the script by creating a sprawling underwater adventure filled with giant new lifeforms and treacherous ice floes.
Can you slay Odin’s ancient rivals and bring peace to Valheim? Complete with Norse weapons, castles, and longships, jump into this smashing debut from Iron Gate Studio and be transported to a different world. And most importantly take your fiercely intimidating but somehow cute lox for a ride.
When the remakes of Diamond and Pearl were announced as a part of Pokemon’s 25th Anniversary we were excited. For many of us, Diamond and Pearl was the last Pokemon game released during our youth, and revisiting this reimagined childhood classic has been a joy!
The team behind Boyfriend Dungeon was kind enough to swing by earlier this year to discuss their game that is sure to be a cult classic. By dating and capturing the heart of your swords, daggers, or polearms, you level up your weapons. Part hack-and-slash, part dating-sim, this shack-and-slash is a true hidden gem.
We believe our world is a better place with more creators in it. As we move into 2022, we are excited to see what our #madewithunity community accomplishes and are looking forward to continuing this celebration during our Made with Unity Awards! Voting opens in January so stay tuned! Keep creating and inspiring us all.
