A number of judges evaluated all of the impressive submissions to pick the winners of the latest Asset Store challenge: Use Substance Painter to texture stunning assets that expand the futuristic world of Buried Memories: Yggdrasil.

Drawing out the creative touch

The Unity Asset Store strives to get top artistic talent to create amazing new assets that will help anyone generate higher-quality content. For this challenge, we asked solo designers or teams of two to create Yggdrasil-inspired props, environments, weapons or vehicles using Substance Painter for all textures. The entries were judged on technical quality (40%), artistic and creative quality (40%), and the use of Unity and Substance technologies (20%). The judges were from Unity, Substance (Allegorithmic), and a number of studios.

Pavel’s team spent over 300 hours creating a variety of environment modules and props with original designs. All assets are set and organized as a Prefab library and the package includes step-by-step documentation.

“I was impressed by the effort put into the level design storytelling, and the variety through the whole environment. Great lighting, as well. Congrats!” – Vincent Gault, Substance
