We have partnered with GSV Ventures to celebrate EdTech creators who are leveraging real-time 3D to make education and learning accessible to all. Submissions are open from August 11-September 10. We will be awarding $500K in funding to selected winners.

Creators are using Unity in world-changing ways every day. We see real-time 3D powering immersive learning platforms, tools to advance the technical skills of the next generation, and educational solutions to increase access to high-quality learning experiences. Over the last few years, Unity has contributed our products, technology, and expertise to more than 400,000 students and teachers every year. We are committed to supporting creators and expanding opportunities for all to harness the power of RT3D and access equitable education opportunities.

GSV Ventures is the leading edtech investment firm, funding $7+ trillion in the education technology sector across "Pre-K to Gray." With GSV and the EdTech Creator Challenge, we will empower creators to change the landscape of education to support all learners in expanding their professional and income-earning opportunities by accelerating the critical work of EdTech creators using Unity.

We are looking to invest in EdTech organizations working in the areas of workforce development and professional learning, higher education and K-12 schooling, and upskilling underserved communities using Unity. Some example organizations include Praxis Labs, Victory XR, Zoe, iCivics, SplashLearn, and ABC Mouse. Nonprofit and for-profit organizations are eligible to apply. Visit the FAQ page for more information.

Meet the Judges and the Evaluation Rubric

All submissions to the EdTech Creator Challenge will be evaluated by an esteemed panel of industry leaders, inclusive of investors, educators, creators, engineers, and other experts. Judges will assess projects based on a version of the GSV team’s 5 Ps framework: people, product, potential, predictability, and purpose. Learn more about how these areas will be evaluated in alignment with our values:

  • People: Is the team inclusive, and what populations are supported by this organization?
  • Product: Does this address a critical need and use real-time 3D technology in a unique way?
  • Potential: What is the traction and impact to date, and does this have global potential?
  • Predictability: What are the near-term milestones (financial and other), and are they achievable?
  • Purpose: What is the organization's mission and what are the impact goals?

We look forward to reviewing the submissions and discovering new ways creators are advancing education for all using Unity. For educators interested in learning more about teaching real-time 3D and the tools that are available, check out the Educators plan. Students can sign up to receive a toolkit for building real-time 3D projects and more when they register for a Student plan. Explore more learning resources for creators of all levels on Unity Learn
