We’re excited to be heading to the MIFA / Annecy International Animation Film Festival from June 10-15th! The festival is a long-standing annual tradition that brings the entire animation industry together for one week, and we are looking forward to this year. Read on for an overview of what you can expect to see from us at the event (you can find additional details on our Annecy page!).
Unity is committed to enabling creators' success in the animation space, and it is our pleasure to applaud one of our valued real-time filmmakers, the Japanese studio Craftar. Their feature film was officially selected by the festival to showcase Director Sakuragi-san’s anime masterpiece Relative Worlds - which premiered on Hulu Japan in April of this year and was created using Unity.
We’re also planning on sharing information about our latest tools with the community. Unity’s Emmy Award-winning team behind Baymax Dreams (developed in collaboration with Disney Television Animation) will be on hand to share a short film called Sherman. Made entirely in Unity from storyboard to final render, filmmakers will be able to play with it at Annecy. We’ll also unpack how users are now able to achieve “fur” using Unity 2018.3 and the highly customizable HD render pipeline.
Our team of experts will be onsite to answer any questions you have about setting up your project in Unity and how creating animation in real time will save you time, without sacrificing quality.
Join us for our talks at MIFA, as there is a lot to share about HDRP, ShaderGraph, Alembic, Cinemachine, Timeline, the new VFX Graph, our latest pipeline tools and improvements for Layout, Lighting and Look Dev departments. During the session Unity: A hybrid platform for linear and interactive content, Mathieu Muller, Product Manager of Film & TV, will be sharing how a 3D real-time development platform can be used to create short films, animated TV series, feature films, VR experiences and anything in-between.
