Register for Autodesk University 2021 and learn from industry experts who are innovating in fields like architecture, engineering, construction, design, manufacturing, and media and entertainment.

Autodesk’s free digital conference is just around the corner and Unity is proud to be a Global Sponsor. This year’s conference features more than 350 sessions, from industry talks and demos with Q&As to inspiring thought leadership and can’t-miss keynotes.

This year, Autodesk University will be broken up into three regional conferences. The global kickoff will be on October 5 with the Americas being October 5–7, EMEA and APAC October 7–8, and East Asia October 13–14.

No matter which regional conference you attend, you can learn about how Unity’s real-time 3D development platform transforms data to empower more informed decision-making across the building lifecycle. See what we have in store for Autodesk University 2021.

Integrating with Autodesk

Unity Reflect, with support for Autodesk Revit, was launched at Autodesk University 2019 to bring models into real-time 3D experiences, including in augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). Since then, we’ve added support for Navisworks and BIM 360. Now a suite of products, you can import your Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and BIM 360 models into Unity Reflect Review to facilitate interactive design reviews between all project stakeholders, or into Unity Reflect Develop to build your own custom applications to address any problem across the entire building lifecycle.

Our Autodesk integration goes beyond Unity Reflect. We also acquired VisualLive, which lets construction professionals visualize designs and collaborate in real-time by overlaying large Autodesk Revit and Navisworks models onto jobsites using AR.

See live product demos and more

Visit our virtual booth at any time throughout the conference to check out our product offerings, recent news, and industry content, such as the four big construction problems that can be solved by augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR).

We’ll also have live demos for Unity Reflect Review, VisualLive, and Unity Forma. See the full schedule for Unity sessions in the Americas region below:

Conduct AR design reviews and client presentations in under five steps

Tuesday, October 5, 2021, 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm PT

Immersive real-time technologies are advancing ways to enhance communication and encourage greater collaboration amongst all project stakeholders. With Unity Reflect Review, learn how to bring your Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and BIM 360 models into a real-time 3D interactive (AR/VR, mobile) environment. Easily share models, get multiple users viewing your project instantaneously, add annotations to capture feedback, and leverage camera follow mode to guide what’s being viewed by all stakeholders. No need to wait weeks for the next client presentation to share your most updated designs. Work in parallel with other collaborators through the power of live sync to see design changes updated in the interactive viewer in real-time. In this demo, see how you can empower stakeholders with greater interactivity and immersive viewing options to better convey your design intent and ultimately drive alignment faster.

How to create digital twins with Autodesk’s BIM solutions and Unity

Tuesday, October 5, 2021, 10:30 am to 11:30 am PT

During the BIM evolution, we’ve seen many different solutions for many different contexts. Easy access to information means that customers are coming to us much better informed and more curious. During the COVID-19 crisis, there was an abundance of information available via webinars, online workshops, and other channels that helped people understand BIM better. But how do we keep moving forward? Much has been heard about digital twins, the new proposal for project analysis in construction and post-construction processes. Innovation raises questions such as, “How am I supposed to offer this solution to my customers?” This class explores the differences between a digital twin and an intelligent model, helps you understand Unity solutions for digital twins, and highlights the advantages of this innovation by showing you how to do it with the support of Autodesk partner Unity.

Tech trends: The impact of digital transformation on the future of work

Tuesday, October 5, 2021, 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm PT

The World Economic Forum estimates that 1 billion people will need to be reskilled by 2030. Of that number, 62 million people work in the AEC, manufacturing, and media and entertainment industries. In particular, the construction and manufacturing industries are undergoing major digital transformations, which is a catalyst driving new jobs and skills for workers in those industries. According to a 2021 report from Burning Glass, the construction and manufacturing industries are moving away from requiring bachelor’s degree qualifications and shifting to skills-based learning and on-the-job training. But that shift requires more than credentialing and certification programs. It’s about a cultural change within companies to keep them competitive in their markets and their employees adaptable to the evolving nature of work. In this panel, execs from HP, Unity, Intel, and Autodesk discuss how automation, technology, and globalization are driving this change and what executives can do to get ahead of it.
