Every day, we are seeing more and more members of the Unity community join Unity Connect, the first talent marketplace dedicated to Unity creators, to showcase their skills and work, and get discovered by talent seekers.
As of today we are up to over 37,000 profiles from Unity talent around the world, who together have posted nearly 13,000 projects. More than 1,300 companies have joined looking for Unity talent and together posted over 1500 jobs.
As Unity Connect continues to build incredible momentum and brings together more and more talent seekers and skilled Unity creators, we are excited to keep evolving and expanding its capabilities to meet the community’s needs. Today, we have several exciting new updates to announce!
With References, you can now ask your colleagues to provide a written endorsement to share on your Unity Connect profile to provide additional support for the quality of your work. If you’re looking to recruit employees or hire someone for a Task, this will help qualify potential applicants and give you more confidence that the person you are hiring has the skills to deliver on the job.
New to your Unity Connect profile is the concept of ‘Role.’ Because the precise wording used in job titles can vary, we created the concept of ‘Role’ to help categorize Unity creators by their primary functions in the creation pipeline (Artist, Developer, Producer, etc). This will make it easier for talent seekers to find the type of person they need, and it will also help us recommend more relevant content like jobs, tasks, or projects. To add your ‘Role,’ simply log in to Unity Connect and go to ‘Edit Profile’ — you’ll find the ‘Current Role’ pulldown added under the ‘Job Title’ field.
Lastly, we’re very excited to announce that Unity Connect now has features that will make it easier for you to connect with Unity talent or get discovered in your own region. When you next visit the site, you’ll automatically be assigned to a region based on IP address and the language and location information in your profile. Jobs, Companies, and Talent will automatically sort to put entries in your region at the top of the list.
In addition, we have localized the site for China, Japan, and Korea, so users in those countries will also be able to use the site in their local language.
The global community will still be just one click away — you can easily change your region with the selection menu in the bottom right of the page footer.
Unity Connect is the first talent marketplace dedicated to the full spectrum of Unity creators: artists, programmers, sound designers, level designers, VR developers, game developers, VR/AR developers… if you are part of creating games, VR/AR, or interactive content with Unity, we want you on board.
